Orders, the stock on the shelf and every purchase order, in one plan that updates itself. It says which order goes on the floor first, what material has to be bought and by when. When a supplier emails that a delivery is late, it shows which customer order slips, weeks before anybody would have noticed.

BSide two: the ones that got away

Fully booked is not the same as lost.

Someone asks for Saturday and Saturday is gone. Normally that is the end of it. It asks if they want to be told when something opens, and then it actually remembers to tell them.

04Point of Sale

Built for a Lebanese shop rather than adapted for one. It runs on a laptop at the counter, it takes money with no connection at all, and it keeps count of what is on your shelves while you serve. Your sales stay on your machine.

It sells with the line down

The till never waits for the internet. Beirut loses power and connection most days, and a shop that cannot ring up a sale during it does not have a till, it has a website.

Scan, or type, or weigh

Any USB barcode scanner works with nothing to set up. Cheese, olives and nuts are sold by the kilo. Anything the scanner does not know, you name once and it remembers.
